Chuck - What a great article on self-talk. You are so correct; we are the listeners to the inner voice. I have often thought about what God must feel when we accept talk like "I'm so stupid." If I had created someone in my image and they thought themselves STUPID, what would that make me? On the other hand, if someone, who hated me, called themselves stupid, it wouldn't both me since I would expect that. However, if they accepted that statement from themselves, then I would be unhappy. I believe this is exactly the scenerio of self-talk. God created us in his own image, having the capacity to love others as well as within us being our guide and comforter. However, Satan, who HATES god, is the little voice in our head. God will keep Satan from our heart, but he can dwell in our head (thus the phrase "follow your heart"). So we should ask, do we want to listen to God, our creater, who loves us, and wants to help us be purpose driven champions?or, do we want to listen to Satin, who hates God and his creation? Let's not listen to that negative voice of satin, but rather, read our affirmations over and over again, reaffirming how wonderful we are since we are made in God's image. We should see ourselves successfully accomplishing God's purpose for our life as we open our hearts to God's love and direction. Thanks again, Chuck for your Godly direction. Pot Boiler
